ROCKVILLE, Md., April 5, 2021—On Friday, April 9 at 12:30 p.m. Montgomery County Councilmember Sidney Katz will host the nineteenth installment in his ongoing series of virtual business briefings for County residents on the online video communications platform Zoom. Councilmember Katz started holding these business and economic development briefings while serving as Council president during the COVID-19 pandemic, to help businesses, nonprofits and residents navigate the pandemic and economic recovery.
Councilmember Katz will be joined this Friday by Anthony Featherstone, executive director of Worksource Montgomery, Inc. (WSM), and Brad Stewart, senior vice-president of business development for Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC). The guests will discuss the County’s economic development, employment in critical industries such as technology, healthcare and construction, and the evolution of entrepreneurship.
“Our guests this week will bring great insight on what the future of our County’s economic development holds in store for businesses and residents,” said Councilmember Katz. “This pandemic hasn’t stopped our County from continuing to grow, and it’s thanks to the great work of organizations like WSM and MCEDC that we are still an economic driver for Maryland.”
Residents can submit their questions for Councilmember Katz and the other participants by emailing Councilmember.Katz@MontgomeryCountyMD.Gov, and will also have the opportunity to submit questions in the Zoom chat during the question and answer portion of the briefing. Those wishing to participate in the briefing can register ahead of time by emailing Councilmember.Katz@MontgomeryCountyMD.Gov. The Zoom call information will be sent by e-mail to participants when they register.
