ROCKVILLE, Md., April 9, 2021—Council Vice President, Gabe Albornoz; Program Director Anna Wolf from The National Center for Children and Families (NCCF) and Esther Martinez, an NCCF beneficiary, will be the featured guests on today's En Sintonía con El Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), airing today at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM).

In the first part of the show, Council Vice-President Albornoz will provide an update on the County’s first mass vaccination site and will talk about how important this site is for the County, especially for the communities most affected by COVID-19. This new site is located at Montgomery College’s Germantown campus. He will also discuss the County’s ongoing partnership with Adventist HealthCare aimed at increasing vaccinations across the County focused on the Latino community. Council Vice President Albornoz will also discuss the enactment of Montgomery County’s new ghost gun law and what it means for residents. Ghost guns are do-it-yourself guns that are unserialized firearms built by unlicensed individuals. The new law prohibits a person from transferring a ghost gun to a minor and prohibits the sale, transfer or possession of a ghost gun within 100 yards of a place of public assembly.

During the second part of the show, Anna Wolf and Esther Martinez will discuss the many programs and services offered by The National Center for Children and Families (NCCF). More information on the NCCF’s impact can be found on their website: https://www.nccf-cares.org/.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
