Montgomery County to Host Online Conversation About Addiction and Available Services Wednesday, June 30

Montgomery County residents are invited to an online conversation about addiction—the signs, symptoms, treatment, and services available--on Wednesday, June 30. The session is part of a series, Wellness Community Events: Healing and Holding On—One Conversation at a Time for the Community, which is focused on mental health and wellness issues affecting the community as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. The conversation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m.             

Staff from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Behavioral Health and Crisis Services team will describe addiction and talk about signs and symptoms.  In addition, the presenters will talk about services provided by DHHS, including Medication Assisted Treatment and the Adult Drug Court treatment program. The presenters are:

  • David Hill, supervisory therapist, Adult Drug Court program and Medication Assisted Treatment program
  • Reginald Briggs, licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor, Adult Drug Court treatment program
  • Joelle Bonnett, licensed clinical social worker, Adult Drug Court treatment program
  • Aaron Cooper, licensed clinical social worker, Adult Drug Court treatment program
  • Ferne Woody, licensed graduate professional counselor, Medication Assisted Treatment program
