County public health staff are offering free immunizations to eligible children so that immunization requirements are met before the beginning of the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Children returning to school on Monday, Aug. 30 are required to have immunizations up to date, and parents must submit documentation by the first day of attendance. If students are not in compliance with immunization requirements, they can be excluded from school beginning Monday, Sept. 20.
Immunizations for students new to Montgomery County Public Schools and children in kindergarten through 12th grade are available by appointment only Monday through Friday, at locations in Germantown, Rockville, and Silver Spring.

Immunizations will also be available at Montgomery County Public Schools’ Back-to-School Jamon Saturday, Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Westfield Wheaton Mall, located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton.
Parents can access their child’s immunization record online at no cost at the Maryland Department of Health’s web portal. Users can view and print official copies of vaccination records without a request to their health care provider.
Examples of required immunizations include Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis), MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella (Chickenpox) and polio. For more information about Maryland’s immunization requirements can be found on the Maryland Department of Health’s website.
