For Immediate Release: Monday, October 25, 2021

The forum will be held virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021 starting at 10 a.m.

ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 25, 2021—On Wednesday Nov. 3, 2021 Councilmember Sidney Katz will hold a Senior Forum on Aging in Place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Zoom (sign up here). The forum will focus on Age-Friendly Montgomery and the village concept to introduce attendees to these areas. Additional forums will be scheduled in the future to address other aspects related to aging in place.

Age-Friendly Montgomery County is an initiative to enhance the County as a wonderfully diverse Community for a lifetime, where all residents can age, thrive to their full potential and contribute as a powerful resource in making Montgomery County a better, stronger and more inclusive community for everyone.

Villages are local, volunteer-led, grassroots organizations that aim to support community members who choose to age in place. They foster social connections through activities and events and coordinate volunteer help at home using the neighbor helping neighbor model. There are nearly 50 villages in the DC metro area. Learn more about villages at the Department of Health and Human Services website.
