Committee will continue its review of policy priorities for Health and Human Services advisory boards, committees and commissions
The Health and Human Services (HHS) Committee will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 8:30 a.m. to continue to review policy priorities with each of the chairs of the Health and Human Services advisory boards, committees and commissions.
The members of the HHS Committee include Chair and Council Vice President Gabe Albornoz and Councilmembers Evan Glass (Lead for Homelessness & Vulnerable Communities) and Craig Rice.

Boards, Committees, and Commissions Priorities
Review: The HHS Committee will continue to discuss policy priorities with each of the chairs of the HHS advisory boards, committees and commissions. During the meeting each chair has been asked to identify their top two policy priorities. This meeting will include representatives from the the Board of Social Services, Citizen Review Panel Advisory Group, Commission on Aging, Commission on Child Care, Commission on Children and Youth, Commission on People with Disabilities, Commission on Veterans Affairs, Community Action Board and Early Childhood Coordinating Council.
At the first meeting on Nov. 15, the Committee met with representatives of the African American Health Program, Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Advisory Council, Asian American Health Initiative, Commission on Health, Interagency Commission on Homelessness, Latino Health Initiative; Mental Health Advisory Committee, Montgomery Cares Advisory Board and the Victim Services Advisory Board.
Those expected to attend and provide information include Marquette Rogers, Board of Social Services; Wilma Brier, Citizen Review Panel Advisory Group; Barbara Selter, Commission on Aging; Tracey Clay and William Hegwood, Commission on Child Care; Renae McPherson, Commission on Children and Youth; Chris Jennison, Commission on Juvenile Justice; Seth Morgan, Commission on People with Disabilities; Wayne Miller and Robert Koffman, Commission on Veterans Affairs; Lisette Engel, Community Action Board; and Taniesha Woods-Myles, Early Childhood Coordinating Council.

The Council and committees are meeting via Zoom this fall because of ongoing construction and technology upgrades in the Council's Hearing Room and the inability to conduct meetings in a socially distant way in other areas of the Council Office Building with television broadcast capacity. Councilmembers will continue to hold meetings in their offices by appointment.
