Update: Green Farm Conservation Park Rape

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division - Homicide/Sex Section are continuing to investigate a rape that occurred on July 9 in the Green Farm Conservation Park.

This morning, 6th District officers and detectives distributed fliers to the businesses and residential communities that border the park (see map).  Between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., fliers were distributed to the drivers of all vehicles traveling on Rickenbacker Road and Airpark Drive from Woodfield Road.

Detectives are seeking the community's assistance in identifying the suspect in this incident.  The suspect is described as:

  • a Hispanic male
  • late teens to early twenties
  • between 5' 4" - 5' 7" tall
  • between 120-140 pounds
  • wearing a black knit hat, olive green cloth covering his face, dark-colored shirt, and blue jeans
  • had a strong odor of cologne
  • armed with a knife
