UPDATE : Homicide Suspect in Custody in Miami, Florida

Detectives of the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division are releasing information that Martire Puente-Fulcar, wanted for the homicide of Rocio Nikaury Morcelo that occurred on September 22 in Wheaton, is in custody in Miami, Florida.  (Note that the name of the homicide victim was initially reported differently but has been changed after confirmation by family members).

Yesterday, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Miami Beach Police Department responded to the Versailles Hotel located at 3425 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.  Preliminary investigation indicates that Puente-Fulcar jumped from the roof top of the nine story hotel in an apparent suicide attempt.  At this time, Puente-Fulcar remains in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital.

Extradition arrangements for Puente-Fuclar will be made once Puente-Fulcar is medically cleared from the hospital.
