Update: Serious Pedestrian Collision in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continue to investigate a serious pedestrian collision that occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on January 7th on Wisteria Drive just north of Route 118 in Germantown.

Preliminary investigation revealed that for reasons still under investigation, the pedestrian, who was identified only as an adult male, was crossing Wisteria Drive from East to West and was struck in the northbound lanes outside the crosswalk.  The pedestrian has now been identified as Pedro Antonio Gomez, age 34, from the 1800 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village.

The driver of the vehicle, a white 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis, was identified as 51-year-old Ousmane Seydi of the 13600 block of Winterspoon Lane in Germantown. The driver remained on the scene and has been assisting with the investigation.

The pedestrian remains in grave condition at a local hospital.
