Detectives Release Composite in December Gaithersburg Homicide

For Immediate Release: Monday, January 14, 2013

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division - Homicide/Sex Section are continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred on December 3, 2012 in the unit block of Whetstone Drive in Gaithersburg.  The victim in this homicide was identified as Cesar Smith, age 45, of Gaithersburg.

Today, detectives are releasing a composite of a person seen in the vicinity of the crime and are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the subject.  Detectives need to identify him and speak with him regarding the incident.

Investigators still believe that this crime was not random and that the victim and suspects may have had some association.  However, detectives are unable to confirm the type of relationship at this time.
