Detectives Investigate Bank Robbery in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are investigating a bank robbery that occurred this morning in Germantown.

Today, at approximately 11:35 a.m., officers from the 5th District responded to the Capital One Bank located at 21117 Frederick Road for a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.  Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, and produced a note demanding money.  The teller provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect then fled from the bank.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’7? tall, and weighing 180 to 190 pounds.  He was wearing glasses and had his hair styled in long dreadlocks.  He was wearing a short-sleeved, button-down, plaid shirt.

Detectives are releasing surveillance photos of the suspect involved in this bank robbery and asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.  Detectives believe that this suspect is also responsible for a Capital One bank robbery that occurred on May 22 in White Oak.
