For Immediate Release: Wednesday, October 16, 2013

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - Major Crimes Division have arrested a suspect responsible for a sex assault that occurred in June 2013 on Goodport Court in Gaithersburg.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives obtained a sample of the suspect's DNA and submitted it to the crime laboratory for analysis.  Earlier this week, detectives were notified that the suspect DNA sample had been matched to a DNA sample of a known individual.

The suspect was identified as Kadeer Malik Mack, age 21, of the unit block of Honeybrook Circle in Gaithersburg.

Based on the above, an arrest warrant was obtained for Mack on October 14.  Just after midnight on October 15, Mack was arrested during a traffic stop conducted by Rockville City Police Department.

Mack is charged with one count of first-degree rape and one count of committing a first-degree sex offense.  He is currently being held without bond.
