Update: Suspect Charged in Piney Branch Stabbing

For Immediate Release: Thursday, June 19, 2014

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are continuing to investigate a stabbing that occurred last night on Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring.

This afternoon, detectives charged Ulises A. Blanco-Melgar, age 31, of no fixed address, with one count of attempt first degree murder, one count of first degree assault, and one count of second degree assault.

Ulises Blanco-Melgar is currently being held without bond.  A bond review hearing will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Rockville District Court.  A photo of Blanco-Melgar will be provided when available.

The victim of the stabbing remains in critical condition at this time.
