Update: North Bethesda Pedestrian Collision Now Fatal

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on August 6th in North Bethesda.

The pedestrian, identified as Matthew Aaron Papirmeister, age 24, succumbed to his injuries over the weekend at Suburban Hospital. Family members were present at that time. Mr. Papirmeister resided in the 8600 block of Melwood Road in Bethesda.

On August 6th, at approximately 11:15 p.m., after an on-duty officer witnessed the collision, 2nd District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Rockville Pike and Executive Boulevard for a report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle.  Investigation revealed that the pedestrian had been crossing the southbound lanes of Rockville Pike when he was struck by a Toyota Venza that was traveling southbound on Rockville Pike.   The driver of the Toyota remained on the scene.

The driver of the Toyota Venza has been identified as Madani Diallo, age 57, of the 1800 block of Metzerott Road in Adelphi, Maryland.
