Missing Gaithersburg Man Located Deceased - No Foul Play Suspected

For Immediate Release: Thursday, September 4, 2014

Today at approximately 1:00 p.m., Maryland State Police troopers were called to the area of MV Smith Road, south of Interstate 68 in Allegany County.  Passers-by had located what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle and when troopers arrived to the area, a body was located in close proximity to the vehicle.  The deceased person is believed to be Mr. Martin John Rogers, age 54, of the 12900 block of Riffle Ford Court in Gaithersburg; the vehicle located in the area belongs to him.  Mr. Martin Rogers was reported missing on August 21.  No foul play is suspected in this death.

The body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for confirmation of identity.

Police, family, and friends would like to thank the media and public for assisting in and publicizing this missing person case.  Mr. Rogers' family would request that they not be contacted at this time and that their privacy be respected.
