Update: Victim Identified in Briggs Chaney Area Homicide - Reward Offered for Information

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department- Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a homicide that occurred yesterday in the Edgewood Neighborhood Park on Robey Road.

The victim is identified as Garrett Alexander McClees, age 22, of an undetermined address.

On October 8 at approximately 4:43 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center (9-1-1) received multiple calls for a shooting and the sound of shots fired in the Edgewood Neighborhood Park located at 13900 Robey Road in the Briggs Chaney area. Montgomery County and Maryland-National Capital Park police officers and Fire-Rescue personnel responded to the park and located a 22-year-old male, now identified as McClees, suffering from gunshot wounds; he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Detectives continue to urge anyone who may have information regarding this homicide to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240.773.5070. For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s).
