Homicide detectives continue to investigate the
homicide that occurred in a Montgomery Village shopping center on October 15.
Today, after speaking with family and friends, investigators are identifying the victim as a transgender female. Police have learned that she identified herself as Zella Ziona.
Chief J. Thomas Manger stated, "This is a horrific crime and a tragedy for those who knew Zella. As with all homicides in Montgomery County, we have detectives working around the clock to thoroughly and completely investigate this murder."
Detectives are urging anyone who may have information regarding the suspect(s) in this homicide to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240.773.5070. For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s).
