White Oak Fatal Pedestrian Collision Investigated

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred this morning in the White Oak area of Silver Spring.

At approximately 6:01 a.m., 3rd District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the southbound lanes of Route 29, just south of New Hampshire Avenue, for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation has indicated that the pedestrian, identified as Michelle Sena Hoyah, 18 years old, of the 300 block of Rutgers Street in Rockville, was crossing Route 29 between New Hampshire Avenue and Oak Leaf Drive.  A gold, 2011, Toyota Camry was traveling south on Route 29 and struck Hoyah in the traffic lanes.  Michelle Hoyah was transported to Holy Cross Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the Toyota is identified as Maxwell Larbi, 35 years old, of the 11600 block of Lockwood Drive in White Oak.
