Fatal Collision Investigated in Damascus Area

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, December 22, 2015

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a single-vehicle, single-occupant, fatal collision that occurred this evening in the Damascus area.

At approximately 6:26 p.m., 5th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded for the report of a serious personal-injury collision in the 5200 block of Damascus Road.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a silver, 2002 Volkswagen Passat was traveling north on Damascus Road. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  He is identified as David Mark Harris, 20 years old, of the 20200 block of Lea Pond Place in Gaithersburg,
