Update: Reported Suspicious Situation in Chevy Chase

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, March 16, 2016

The Montgomery County Police Department-Special Victims Investigations Division has been investigating allegations regarding an attempted abduction that occurred on Friday, March 11 in Chevy Chase and was reported by two children, ages four-and-a-half and seven.  Based on the investigation thus far, there is no credible information that indicates that this incident was an attempted abduction.











Detectives have reinterviewed the children, who are the only known witnesses.  At this time, many details remain unconfirmed.

Investigators continue to collect information and continue to follow possible leads.
