Detectives Investigate Burtonsville Bank Robbery – Photos Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today in Burtonsville. Detectives are releasing photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

This afternoon at approximately 12:58 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Sandy Spring bank located at 3535 Spencerville Road in Burtonsville, for the report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.

Investigators have determined that the suspect entered the bank, approached a teller, and passed a note demanding money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

Detectives believe this same suspect robbed a Howard County Capital One Bank this afternoon, located in Elkridge.  A link to the surveillance video from the Capital One Bank and the Howard County Police Department press release can be found here: http://bit.ly/25BpQvU

Investigators also believe that this suspect robbed a Suntrust bank in Burtonsville on December 29, 2015.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect involved in this bank robbery is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of these suspects. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
