Single Vehicle Fatal Collision in Beallsville Investigated

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a single-vehicle, single-occupant, fatal collision that occurred in Beallsville this afternoon.

At approximately 3:40 p.m., 1st District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Darnestown Road and Beallsville Road for the report of a serious single-vehicle collision that had just occurred.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2009 Chevy Express van was traveling westbound on Darnestown Road near Beallsville Road, when for reasons still under investigation, the van left the roadway and struck a utility pole.  The driver, identified as Roland Lee Anderson Jr., age 59, of the 7800 block of Fingerboard Road in Frederick, the sole occupant of the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
