Update: Suspect Arrested for Germantown Armed Robbery – Tipster Helped Close This Case

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 5th District Investigative Section have charged Brenden Lamont Dashiell Jr., age 30, of Cherry Bend Court in Germantown, for the October 2 armed robbery of a 20-year-old male at the SunTrust Bank ATM located at 12605 Wisteria Drive in Germantown.

On Sunday, October 2 at approximately 2:07 a.m., the victim was walking on Great Seneca Highway near Grey Eagle Court, when Dashiell Jr. approached him, displayed a handgun, and ordered him to walk to the SunTrust Bank.  Dashiell Jr. then forced the victim to withdraw an undisclosed amount of currency from the bank’s ATM.

On October 6, detectives released photographs of the suspect to the media and public and asked for help in identifying him.  Investigators received a tip which led to the identification of Dashiell Jr. as the suspect.  Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Dashiell Jr. and arrested him at his home on October 19.

Dashiell Jr. was transported to the Central Processing Unit where he was charged with armed robbery, theft, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.  Dashiell Jr. is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The tipster that provided information to investigators regarding Dashiell Jr. is eligible for a cash reward from Crime Solvers of Montgomery County.
