Detectives Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Chevy Chase Area

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle that occurred this morning.

On Tuesday, April 11 at approximately 7:58 a.m., 2nd District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Connecticut Avenue at Thornapple Street for the report of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2004 GMC Yukon was making a left turn from southbound Connecticut Avenue onto eastbound Thornapple Street and a 2008 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle was traveling northbound on Connecticut Avenue approaching Thornapple Street.  For reasons still under investigation, the Triumph motorcycle and the Yukon collided in the intersection.

The operator of the motorcycle is being identified as Dean Michael Rusciolelli, age 24, of the 3900 block of Washington Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia. Rusciolelli was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Yukon is being identified as Consuelo Y. Garcia-Trujillo, age 50, of the 5700 block of 29th Avenue in Hyattsville.  Garcia-Trujillo was not injured in the collision.
