Update: Victim’s Identity Released in Silver Spring Area Homicide

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the homicide that occurred last night inside of a residence in the 1600 block of Belvedere Boulevard in the Forest Glen area of Silver Spring.

The homicide victim, a resident of the home, is now being identified as Jon-Christian Kemachet-Webster, age 20.

On Wednesday, July 19 at approximately 9:51 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center (911) received a call from an occupant of a residence in the 1600 block of Belvedere Boulevard who reported that a suspect had entered the home and had shot one of the other occupants of the house.  The caller further stated that the suspect had fled from the home after the shooting.  Third District officers responded to the residence and located the victim on the upper level of the home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the house and transported him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives do not believe that this homicide was a random act.
