Single Vehicle, Double Fatal Collision Investigated

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police - Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a double fatal collision that occurred late on Wednesday in Potomac.

On Wednesday, October 18 at approximately 11:39 p.m., 2nd District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Democracy Boulevard at Gainsborough Road for the report of a serious personal injury collision.  First responders located a 2011 Audi S4 off the roadway.  It was evident the vehicle had been involved in a crash.  The adult male driver and adult female passenger had succumbed to injuries suffered in the crash.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Kent Matthew Brooks, 30 years old of Potomac, was driving the Audi eastbound on Democracy Boulevard, when for reasons still under investigation, the Audi left the roadway and struck a tree.  Brooks had addresses in the 7800 block of Heatherton Lane in Potomac and the 1400 block of Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda.  The passenger is being identified as Kathleen Michelle French, 33 years old, of the 7500 block of Heatherton Lane (not the same residence as Brooks) in Potomac.
