Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help in locating a wanted suspect: Damien Jared Fox, Jr., age 16, of an unconfirmed address.

Detectives have obtained a warrant for Fox’s arrest for the February 26 shooting of a 17-year-old male victim that occurred in the 13900 block of Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville.  The warrant charges Fox with first-degree assault, armed robbery, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

On Monday, February 26 at approximately 8:50 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Station located at 13900 Old Columbia Pike for the report of a 17-year-old male who walked into the fire station and reported that he had been shot.  The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation by detectives determined that the victim, a student at Paint Branch High school had been at the high school, located at 14121 Old Columbia Pike.  At some point in the morning, the victim left the school and went to visit friends who were outside of a residence in the 13900 block of Old Columbia Pike.  Fox, whom the victim knew, was also outside of that residence.  Fox repeatedly demanded the victim’s cell phone, the victim did not give him his phone.  The victim began walking back to the school when he heard a gunshot and realized that Fox had shot him.  The victim’s friends walked him to the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Station located at 13900 Old Columbia Pike to seek medical treatment for his gunshot wound.  Fox fled the area prior to police arriving.
