Detectives Investigate Sex Offense in Rockville; Surveillance Photograph Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 1st District Investigative Section continue to investigate the March 11 inappropriate touching of a 26-year-old female victim by an unknown suspect that occurred outside of a grocery store in the Rockville area.  Today, investigators are releasing a surveillance photograph of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On Sunday, March 11 at approximately 4:44 p.m., 1st District officers responded to the parking lot of the Harris Teeter located at 12525 Park Potomac Avenue for the report of a sex offense that had just occurred.  The victim told officers that she noticed the suspect following her as she shopped in the store.  After the victim had exited the store to the parking lot with her groceries and began to place the bags in her car, the suspect approached her from behind and touched her inappropriately.  She confronted the suspect and he left the area on foot.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or who has information about this incident is asked to contact the 1st District Investigative Section at 240-773-6084.  For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
