Man Charged for Inappropriate Touching of Juvenile Victims

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, May 9, 2018

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) have arrested and charged Ancelmo Osmin Diaz, age 59, of Longmeadow Drive in Gaithersburg, with assault and sexual offenses related to his repeated inappropriate touching of three victims.  Two of the victims are juveniles.

Investigators are releasing this information due to Diaz’s employment as a building services employee at Gaithersburg High School located at 101 Education Boulevard in Gaithersburg.

On Wednesday, May 2, detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) received information from one juvenile victim that Diaz has inappropriately touched her for approximately three years.  Investigators then interviewed another juvenile victim who stated that Diaz has inappropriately touched her for five years.  Detectives interviewed the adult victim who stated that Diaz had inappropriately touched her when she was 18-years-old.  Investigators believe that all of Diaz’s inappropriate touching of the victims occurred in his residence.

During a police interview, Diaz made statements partially admitting to the inappropriate touching of the victims.

On May 3, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Diaz charging him with six counts of sexual abuse of a minor, seven counts of fourth-degree sex offense, and one count of second-degree assault.

On May 8, Diaz was arrested at his home by a Gaithersburg Police Department officer and was transported to the Central Processing Unit. Bond information for Diaz is not available at this time.

Detectives are requesting that parents of juveniles who attend Gaithersburg High School talk to their children about possible interactions with Diaz and contact SVID detectives at 240-773-5400 if they believe their child was victimized.
