Detectives Investigate Single-Vehicle Fatal Collision in Rockville

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal, single-vehicle collision that occurred yesterday afternoon.

On Saturday, May 19, at approximately 1:42 p.m., 2nd District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Montrose Parkway in the area of East Jefferson Street for the report of a collision.

Preliminary investigation has indicated that the operator of a 2012 Toyota Highlander was traveling east on Montrose Parkway.  In the area of East Jefferson Street, for reasons still under investigation, the Highlander left the roadway and struck a light pole.  The driver and six passengers all were transported to local hospitals.

The driver, identified as Bartilyn Seneh, age 30, of Appleton Place in Frederick, was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.  The front seat passenger, identified as Rose Priscilla Ivy, age 79, of Durham, North Carolina, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.  She succumbed to her injuries at the hospital last night.  A 33-year-old female passenger was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.  The four remaining passengers, two, three-year old females, a 10 year-old female, and a 13-year-old female, were all transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.
