Suspect Wanted for Two Bank Robberies and an Attempted Bank Robbery; Surveillance Photographs Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate two bank robberies and an attempted bank robbery that occurred between March and August.  The bank robberies and attempted bank robbery are believed to have been committed by the same suspect.  Investigators also believe that this same suspect committed a July 10 bank robbery in Prince George’s County.  Today, MCP detectives are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The following bank robberies and attempted bank robbery were reported to MCP:

• At approximately 11:09 a.m. on March 29, the suspect entered the Capital One Bank located at 11241 Georgia Avenue in Wheaton and handed a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.
• At approximately 11:55 a.m. on May 3, the suspect entered the BB&T Bank in the Colesville area located at 13350 New Hampshire Boulevard and handed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller immediately contacted police and the suspect fled without obtaining and proceeds from the bank. 
• At approximately 9:09 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, the suspect entered the SunTrust Bank located at 8510 Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase and handed a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

Anyone with information about the suspect or these bank robberies is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
