Update: Public's Tips Lead to Identification of Two Commercial Robbery Suspects

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a commercial robbery that occurred on Friday, July 27, at Esther’s Beauty Salon/Supplies located at 9309 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.

On August 1, the Police Department released surveillance photographs of the suspects and video of the robbery.  Detectives received numerous tips from the public regarding the suspects' identities.

  • One suspect has been identified as Curtis Pegues, age 19, of Saint Mortiz Drive in Temple Hills, Maryland.  Pegues was arrested and charged with armed robbery and first-degree assault and is being held without bond.
  • Charges are pending against a second suspect who has been identified as a 14-year-old male juvenile from Washington, D.C.
  • The third suspect has not been identified.
