Detectives Investigate Single-Vehicle Fatal Collision on Zion Road

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a single-vehicle fatal collision that occurred in the Laytsonville area.

On Wednesday, September 19, at approximately 6:49 p.m., 5th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 20400 block of Zion Road for the report of a single-vehicle collision.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 1995 Cadillac Eldorado was traveling north on Zion Road. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway in the 20400 block of Zion Road.  The Cadillac struck a fence and overturned.  The driver (and sole occupant of the vehicle), identified as Marvin Dewitt Dutton, age 53, of Riggs Road in Gaithersburg, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
