Update: Gaithersburg Undetermined Death Investigation

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, November 21, 2018

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division and Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continue to investigate the undetermined death of 34-year-old Dammeon Terrell Powell, who was located deceased in the roadway of Cherry Laurel Lane in Gaithersburg on November 13. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore for an autopsy. The results of the autopsy are pending.

Investigators found Powell lying in the roadway and believe that the injuries that he sustained were a result of being struck by a vehicle. Investigators have located the vehicle and the driver involved in the collision. The driver has been cooperative with officers. The driver's name will be released once detectives have concluded this investigation and the autopsy findings are complete.
