Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) continue to investigate the Friday, November 30, attempted rape of an adult female that occurred as the victim was working as a cleaner at an apartment complex in the Derwood area. Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

st District responded to an apartment complex located at 8010 Gramercy Boulevard for the report of an attempted rape.
Investigation has determined that the suspect approached the victim in the first-floor hallway where bathrooms are located and stated that the men's bathroom did not have any paper towels. The victim entered the men's bathroom to replenish the paper towels and the suspect followed. The suspect grabbed the victim and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to break free from the suspect and police were called.
Video surveillance captured the suspect walking near the bathrooms during the time of the attempted rape.
