Detectives Investigate Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Collision in Wheaton

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved collision that occurred in the Glenmont/ Wheaton area.

On Saturday, January 26, at approximately 12:03 a.m., 4th district officers and Fire & Rescue Services personnel responded to Layhill Road and Greenery Lane for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the adult male pedestrian was attempting to cross northbound Layhill Road at Greenery Lane when he was struck by a 2013 Toyota Prius that was traveling north on Layhill Road.  The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Prius is identified as 47-year-old Brian Douglas of Gothic Lane in Bowie.

The pedestrian is identified as Alberto Alexander Duque, age 30, of an unconfirmed address.
