Police Investigate Fatal Single-Vehicle Collision in Damascus

For Immediate Release: Monday, May 27, 2019

The Montgomery County Department of Police - Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred last night in Damascus.

On Sunday, May 26, 2019, at approximately 9:44 pm, officers from the 5th District and personnel from the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services responded to the report of a car fire on Laytonsville Road just north of Hawkins Creamery Road.  When units arrived on the scene, they found a 2016 KIA Soul had struck a large tree.  The vehicle's sole occupant was an adult male who was deceased at the scene.

The driver was identified as Aaron Michael Girson, age 21, of Garfield Court in Gaithersburg.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the collision.  Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
