For Immediate Release: Tuesday, August 13, 2019

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd and 3rd District Investigative Sections continue to investigate two burglaries at office buildings that detectives believe were committed by the same suspect.

The Police Department previously released video of the suspect from a May 24 office building burglary.  Since that time, the suspect has been captured on video committing another burglary.  Detectives are re-releasing surveillance video and photographs of the suspect and are asking anyone with information about the suspect to come forward to police.

Summaries of the two burglaries follow:

  • On May 24, at approximately 4:15 p.m., the suspect pried open the door to the Penney Group Design office located at 8120 Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda.  The suspect attempted to open locked cabinets and drawers before leaving.  The suspect returned to the office at approximately 4:32 p.m. and realized that two employees were working in cubicles.  The suspect walked to the opposite side of the office from where the employees were sitting and stole two laptop computers.  The suspect fled on a bicycle that he had secured to a post in front of the building.
  • On July 25, at approximately 5:21 p.m., the suspect pried open the door to the Q Lux Spa located at 1111 Spring Street.  He stole cash from the business.
