Detectives Investigate Serious Pedestrian Collision in Wheaton

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police- Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred last night in Wheaton.

On August 27, 2019, at approximately 9:09 pm, officers from the 4th District responded to the report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Randolph Road at Glenmont Circle.

The preliminary investigation found that a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling eastbound on Randolph Road when it struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Glenmont Circle.

The pedestrian, an adult male from Wheaton, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Grand Caravan was identified as Harold Lanning Jr. from Silver Spring.  Lanning and the other occupants of the Grand Caravan were not injured.  Lanning remained on the scene of the collision.
