Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have charged Jhasir Marquis Devaux, age 22, of an unconfirmed address, for the August 7th robbery of a Sandy Spring Bank in the Bel Pre area.

On August 7th, at approximately 12:59 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the Sandy Spring Bank located at 14241 Layhill Road for the report of a robbery that just occurred.  The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect approached a teller, passed a note, and announced the robbery.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of currency and fled from the bank.

During the investigation, detectives identified Devaux as the suspect in this bank robbery and determined that Devaux was arrested and charged for robbing this same Sandy Spring bank in April of 2016.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Devaux charging him with one count of robbery.  On September 12, Devaux was arrested on the strength of the Montgomery County warrant in Berks County, Pennsylvania.  Devaux is in custody in Pennsylvania pending extradition to Montgomery County.
