Detectives Investigate Single-Vehicle Fatal Collision in Dickerson Area

Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred last night in the Dickerson area.

On Sunday, November 17, at approximately 9:51 p.m., 5th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Comus Road in the area of Barley Field Lane for the report of a collision.

Preliminary investigation by detectives revealed that a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 was traveling south on Comus Road in the area of Barley Field Lane when for reasons still under investigation, the truck left the roadway and struck several trees.

The driver (and sole occupant) of the vehicle, Jerry Lee Ray Thompson Sr., age 46, of Mouth of Monocacy Road in Dickerson, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
