Detectives Investigate Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Collision in Rockville

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved collision that occurred this evening in Rockville.

On Thursday, January 16 at approximately 6:33 p.m., officers from the 1st District, the Rockville City Police Department, and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Rockville Pike (Route 355) near Wootton Parkway for a report of a serious collision involving a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation has determined that a 2014 Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Rockville Pike approaching Wootton Parkway. For reasons still under investigation, the Accord struck an adult male pedestrian, who was attempting to cross Rockville Pike in a westerly direction.  The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  The adult male driver of the Honda and an adult female passenger in the Honda were not injured in the collision.

The driver of the Honda Accord is identified as 61-year-old Kathatorn Nonceeya of Fallsgrove Boulevard in Rockville.

The pedestrian is identified as 32-year-old Brett Richard Badin of the 11800 block of Old Georgetown Road in Rockville.
