Detectives Investigate Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Collision in White Oak Area

Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved collision that occurred last night in the White Oak area.

On Saturday, February 22, at approximately 9:11 p.m., 3rd District officers and Fire & Rescue personnel responded to New Hampshire Avenue and Lockwood Drive for the report of a collision.

Preliminary investigation by detectives revealed that the pedestrian was attempting to cross New Hampshire Avenue in a westerly direction when, for reasons still under investigation, he was struck by a 2019 Ford Transit 250 that was travelling north on New Hampshire Avenue.

The driver of the Ford Transit is identified as 39-year-old Oscar Armando Rodas-Sanchez of Knollwood Drive in Adelphi. Rodas-Sanchez was not injured in the collision.

The adult male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  He will be identified after his family is notified.
