Detectives Investigate Fatal Collision Involving Motorcycle in Bethesda

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police -Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a serious collision involving a motorcyclist that occurred last night in Bethesda.

On Thursday, May 28, at approximately 10:08 p.m., 2nd District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to River Road (MD 190) at  Burdette Road for the report of a collision involving a motorcycle and vehicle.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the operator of a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling west on River Road.  The driver of a 2014 Toyota RAV4 was traveling east on River Road and was attempting to make a left turn onto Burdette Road when the vehicle and motorcycle collided.

The motorcyclist, identified as Scott Emerson Hess, age 32, of Goldsboro Road in Bethesda, was declared deceased at the scene.  The driver of the vehicle, identified as Mohammad Mansour Rouhanian, age 60, of Clarksburg Square Road in Clarksburg, was not injured in the collision.
