Suspect Arrested for Germantown Homicide

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, July 29, 2020

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged Justin Andrew Wilson, age, 26, of Great Park Circle in Germantown, with the first-degree murder of 63-year-old Edigio Ienzi of Duhart Court in Germantown.

On Thursday, July 23, at approximately 11:34 a.m., 5th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a home on Duhart Court for the report of a stabbing that had just occurred.  First responders located Ienzi inside his home suffering from stab wounds.  Ienzi was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore ruled Ienzi's death a homicide caused by multiple sharp force injuries.

Investigation by detectives determined that on the day of the homicide, a family member, who was asleep in an upstairs bedroom in the residence, was awakened by a loud noise and the sound of Ienzi (the victim) yelling.  She went downstairs to investigate and observed the victim struggling with an unknown male who was holding a knife in his hand.  The family member ran back upstairs and called 911.  The family member was able to provide a description of the suspect to responding officers.

Neighbors' home video surveillance captured the suspect fleeing from the scene.  Another family member, after reviewing the video surveillance, told detectives that he believed the suspect to be someone he knew, and provided Wilson's name.  The family member told investigators that Wilson had been in the home on Duhart Court as recently as three to four weeks prior and that after that visit, the victim had noticed that numerous silver coins were missing from the home.  The physical characteristics of Wilson matched the description of the suspect provided by the family member who witnessed the struggle in the home and the physical characteristics of the suspect captured on surveillance video.

Investigators obtained a first-degree murder warrant for Wilson's arrest and yesterday, July 28, Wilson was arrested in Virginia.  He is currently being held in a facility in Stafford County, Virginia, pending extradition to Montgomery County.
