Detectives Investigate Single-Vehicle Fatal Collision in Cloverly

Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred early this morning in Cloverly.

This morning (Tuesday, August 11), at approximately 12:19 a.m., 4th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to New Hampshire Avenue at McNeil Lane for the report of a collision.

Preliminary investigation by detectives revealed that a 2008 Mazda6 was traveling north on New Hampshire Avenue near McNeil Lane when for reasons still under investigation, the Mazda6 left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

The driver (and sole occupant) of the vehicle, Mark Robert Bonhag, age 56, of the 7000 block of Mink Hollow Road in Highland, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
