Detectives Investigate Fatal Collision in Fairland

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred early this morning in Fairland.

On Sunday, November 8, at approximately 4:27 a.m., 3rd District officers and Fire & Rescue personnel responded to Old Columbia Pike at Ruxton Road for the report of a collision.

Preliminary investigation by detectives determined that a 2013 Ford F-150 was traveling south on Old Columbia Pike approaching Ruxton Road.  A 2017 Toyota Camry was traveling north on Old Columbia Pike near Ruxton Road.  For reasons still under investigation, the Ford and Toyota collided on Old Columbia Pike.

The driver of the Toyota Camry, identified as Jacques Vainqueur, age 57, of Hollywood Avenue in Silver Spring was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.  He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.  An adult female passenger in the Camry was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford F-150, identified as Danys Ricardo Martinez Lazo, age 20, of Chilton Drive in Silver Spring, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
