Holiday Alcohol Task Force officers
will be devoting their full-time and attention to detecting alcohol-related offenses this holiday season.
- During this past week’s enforcement (evening of November 24, 25, 27, and 28), task force officers arrested 42 people for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (DUI).*
- Task force officers also made the following arrests.***
- One person arrested for DUI was also arrested for transporting two handguns in his vehicle. Link to release
- The driver of a vehicle was arrested for possession of a handgun and drug-related charges. Link to release
*It should be noted that the above arrests include only those arrests made by task force officers and do not include the additional arrests made by patrol officers in the performance of their duties. Therefore, the overall number of DUI arrests made by officers during this time period is higher.
**For future reference, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is currently a restriction in place that bars and restaurants in Maryland are to close at 10:00 pm and there is currently capacity limits for bars and restaurants.
