2020 Holiday Alcohol Task Force Enforcement – Week Six

Holiday Alcohol Task Force officers are devoting their full-time and attention to detecting alcohol-related offenses this holiday season.


During this past week's enforcement (evening of December 22, 23, 24, and 26):

·         task force officers arrested 25 people for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (DUI).*

·         1 of the 25 people arrested for DUI was arrested for DUI after being involved in a collision.

·         task force officers arrested and charged a juvenile suspect for driving a stolen vehicle.

·         1 of the 25 people arrested for DUI was also charged with possession of PCP with intent to distribute.


During the past six weeks of enforcement:

·         task force officers arrested a total of 201 people for DUI

·         38 of the 201 people arrested for DUI were arrested for DUI after being involved in a collision.

 

*It should be noted that the above arrests include only those arrests made by task force officers and do not include the additional arrests made by patrol officers in the performance of their duties.  Therefore, the overall number of DUI arrests made by officers during this time period is higher.

**Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a restriction in place that bars and restaurants were closed for dine-in (carry-out only) during this week of enforcement.
