Suspect Now Wanted for Two Armed Bank Robberies of Same Bank in Potomac; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the April 14 and May 3 armed robberies of a Wells Fargo Bank in Potomac believed to have been committed by the same suspect.  Detectives previously released surveillance video of the suspect from the April 14 robbery and are now releasing surveillance video of the male suspect from the May 3 robbery.  Investigators are asking anyone with information about the suspect to come forward to investigators.

The following two bank robberies are believed to have been committed by this suspect:

On Wednesday, April 14, at approximately 11:20 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to the Wells Fargo Bank located at 9812 Falls Road for the report of a robbery.  The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect approached a teller, demanded money, and implied that he was armed.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of currency from the bank and fled.  On April 20, investigators released surveillance video of the suspect to the media and to the public and asked for help in identifying the suspect.

On Monday, May 3, at approximately 11:45 a.m., the suspect entered the same Wells Fargo Bank and passed a note announcing the robbery.  The suspect demanded cash and implied that he was armed with a weapon.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of currency and fled from the bank.
